About the Programme

Risk management is an important management tool for prudent governance. As banks are constantly balancing between asset vulnerability and business growth, risk management plays a dynamic role in managing financial exposures and their inherent risks. The course is exclusively designed to provide comprehensive and practical knowledge of risk management in Islamic financial services. It highlights the features, criteria, standards, policies, regulations as well as operational issues related to the risk management and mitigation.

At the end of the module, learners should be able to:

  • Evaluate the concept of risk management and appraise the management and mitigation process in banking operation
  • Analyse the risk associated with the operational aspects of Islamic banking, financial impact and the mitigation process
  • Explain the operational risk impact that arises from Shariah non-compliance business activities
