About the Programme

This module is designed to address the development needs of internal auditor and enhance the technical knowledge and practical competencies in audit function for Islamic banks as means to assess and improve an organisation’s quality systems. This module highlights the objectives, procedures, techniques and roles of internal audit as well as exposing the participants to the functions of internal audit in corporate governance.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the module, learners should be able to:

  • Appraise the objectives of internal audit and explain the code of ethics employed in internal auditing process.
  • Discuss the relationship between audit functions and risk management.
  • Assess the methodology, process, procedures as well as technique applied in Shariah audit.
  • Explain the critical sections of audit and the functions manage audit and fraud awareness.
  • Plan strategies to ensure the improvement in managing auditees from all stakeholders.
